According to him, the accident took place on January 10, 2011, after which he was rushed to the hospital and had the terrible news broken to him by the doctor.

I thought my leg was just broken during the accident, but as soon as I arrived at the hospital, the doctor told me my leg needed to be amputated.

To make matters worse, the accident and subsequent amputation took place just 24 hours after he got engaged to his then fiancée.

“To be honest, at that time, I completely lost the will to live, to the point where I told my fiancée to find someone else because I could no longer take care of her.

“However, at the encouragement of my family and fiancée, I managed to pull myself together after six months and finally had the courage to work as a cashier at a gas station, which has tremendously lifted my spirit,” he said.

Fast forward to today, Muhammad Azizi’s fiancée is now his wife and they share two children together, something that he’s very grateful for.

Now works as a driver

In 2012, Muhammad Azizi received his prosthetic leg but he still struggled to fully accept the fact that he was a crippled individual.

“When I received a prosthetic leg, I was still having low self-esteem. But that all vanished when I realised that there were some people in a worse condition than I was,” he said.

Currently, Muhammad Azizi works as an e-hailing driver and wants to prove that despite being disabled, he’s still able to provided a living for his family.
