A Malaysian woman has shared how her marriage fell apart after she discovered that her husband had allegedly been having an affair with her best friend.
She said the other woman was also married and had a son, while her husband had been working out of town for a long period of time.
The woman said she had suspected her husband of cheating for months but was unable to find concrete evidence.
Husband allegedly said he would not leave the other woman
She claimed that the affair had gone on for close to six months before the other woman’s husband eventually discovered it after returning home from working out of town.
The matter was then confronted at the other woman’s mother’s house, where both families reportedly tried to settle the issue.
According to the woman, her husband initially avoided their questions before eventually telling the other woman’s family and husband that he would not leave her.
“I will not leave her because she needs me,” she recalled him saying.
According to XUAN Facebook page, statement left her devastated.
She also claimed that while her husband would sometimes refuse to accompany their daughter out for supper at night, he had allegedly bought pepper spray for the other woman because he was worried about her safety when she returned home late after meeting him.
Other woman initially chose to return to her family
The woman said her best friend eventually decided to return to her own family after considering the consequences of the affair.
Her husband then returned home as well, and she initially believed the matter had come to an end.
However, things allegedly changed again about a week later, shortly after their daughter celebrated her sixth birthday.
According to her, the other woman contacted her husband again after deciding to divorce her own husband.
She claimed her husband then asked for a divorce and moved out, leaving her and their daughter behind.
Daughter wanted to see her father
The woman said her daughter later began asking to see her father because she missed him.
She eventually took the child to meet him, hoping they could also discuss how they would move forward.
However, she claimed her husband accused her of using their daughter as an excuse to disturb him and called his mother.
According to the woman, her mother in law later arrived and called the police, saying she wanted the woman to leave.
The incident allegedly frightened the six year old, who began crying after hearing her grandmother mention calling the police on her mother.
The woman also claimed the grandmother did not comfort the child and instead told her to keep quiet.
She was only a child. She just wanted to see her father,” the woman wrote.
Decided to leave with her daughter
Despite everything that had happened, the woman said she had initially considered forgiving her husband because she wanted their daughter to grow up with both parents.
However, she changed her mind after her husband allegedly told her that he had never asked for her forgiveness.
She then decided to leave with her daughter, saying she no longer wanted the child to grow up in such an environment.
The woman, who previously worked for her mother in law, later found a new job and moved back into her parents’ home with her daughter.
She claimed that several months passed without her husband asking about their child.
Her daughter also allegedly told her that she no longer wanted to see her father following the incident.
Despite still feeling upset from time to time, the woman said she and her daughter are now doing well.
“Now there is one thing he was right about. My daughter and I really do not need him,” she wrote.
For now, I have my daughter and my parents. That is enough for me.”
