A 47-year-old local man is feared to be missing after he reportedly fell from the Penang Bridge and plunged into the sea, reported Sin Chew Daily.
Following the incident, rescuers immediately launched a search operation and are doing their best to locate his whereabouts.
Left belongings behind
According to the Penang Fire and Rescue Department, they received a report at around 7am today about someone who had fallen into the sea at the 19KM mark of the Second Penang Bridge heading from Batu Maung toward Batu Kawan.
When they arrived at the scene, they found that the man, identified as Tan Kheng Joo, had left his motorbike and wallet containing his identification documents behind.

At the time of writing, Tan’s condition remains unknown as rescuers rush against time to find and save him.
