A man from Ipoh is now fighting for his life at a hospital in Singapore after he and his girlfriend were caught in a horrible road accident last month.
Despite undergoing three major surgeries, he currently remains in an unconscious state for over 20 days in the ICU and medical bills are soaring as well too.
Hit by 2 cars along SLE
According to Shin Min Daily News, Guo Jia Huang (transliteration) was sending his girlfriend Lin Ying Ying (transliteration), from Johor Bahru to work on his motorcycle on June 25 at 5.15am.
While heading towards Central Expressway (CTE), before the Seletar West Link exit along the Seletar Expressway (SLE), Guo’s motorcycle got hit by two cars and the impact sent him and Lin flying.

The Chinese daily later reported that the car responsible for the crash had collided with the other car, and the sudden collision led to Guo crashing directly into them.
Police told Mothership that a 30-year-old driver was arrested for drink-driving and careless driving, with the case currently under investigation.
Was supposed to marry next year
Lin told Shin Min Daily News that while she managed to get up after the crash, she saw Guo unconscious, with blood coming out from his nose but was still breathing.
After removing the helmet from his head, she saw that his ears were bleeding too.
Lin fractured her right hand and her legs and back were left with bruises and scratches. Both her and Guo were later sent to Tan Tock Seng Hospital for treatment.

Lin also said she and Guo had dated for seven years and had plans to register their marriage next year.
From ICU to general ward, and back again
According to Guo’s brother, Guo suffered brain trauma and bleeding due to the accident and remained in a coma ever since.
He added three surgeries were carried out on Guo: two for his brain injuries and one for his fractured right shoulder.
“At first, his condition improved even though he didn’t wake up after the operation and he was transferred to the general ward.

On July 9, the hospital told us his condition deteriorated in the form of him being unable to breathe and fluid accumulating inside his brain.
“As such, Guo was transferred back to the ICU for further treatment and has remained there since,” he said.
Mounting medical bills
Guo’s brother added that Guo left Malaysia for Singapore to work at the age of 19 and worked in the food and beverage industry for years.
He expressed concern over Guo’s increasing medical expenses, which is expected to reach around S$80,000 to S$90,000 (approx. RM264,500 to RM297,600)
He also said the family has already paid more than $30,000 (approx. RM99,200) and are being stretched beyond their means.
