A wait for assistance to come his way following a road accident turned fatal for a man in Miri, Sarawak, after a Hilux barreled its way into him.
A report by DayakDaily said that the tragedy took place along the Pan Borneo Highway near Bukit Song yesterday afternoon (July 3).
Hit by Hilux while waiting for help
In a statement by Miri police chief Assistant Commissioner Mohd Farhan Lee Abdullah, he said the 46-year-old victim had lost control of his Isuzu D-Max and skidded to the roadside.

He then got out from the vehicle and waited for a colleague to come to his assistance.
While waiting, a Hilux, which was driven by a 40-year-old man, reportedly lost control and skidded off the road before crashing straight into the victim.
As a result, the man was pronounced dead at the scene while the Hilux driver did not suffer any injuries.
The case is being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987 for causing death by reckless or dangerous driving.

Members of the public who have further information on the incident are urged to contact traffic investigation officer Insp Mohd Faizul Ab Rahim at 014-8582582 or 085-430479, or the nearest police station.
Mohd Farhan also called upon road users to always practice caution while driving along the Bukit Song stretch of the Pan Borneo Highway as the area has been identified as accident-prone and gets slippery during rainy weather.
