A woman’s frantic search for her elderly father who disappeared from their family home in Penang ended in tragedy when he was found three days later.
This comes after the 71-year-old was found in a lifeless state inside a Perodua Axia he had driven at an entirely different state.
M’sian man goes missing from Penang home on Friday
According to the missing person notice shared by the man’s daughter Vicky, Eng Chin Kuang was last seen driving from his home located at Pinang Tunggal, Kepala Batas on Apr 18 at around 12.30pm to have lunch.
However, he didn’t return home after that but instead was sighted in Taman Rupawan at around 3.30pm on the same day, where the Axia’s wheels got stuck in a ditch before a kind man had helped lift the vehicle out.

Six hours later, CCTV footage showed Eng driving the Axia to all the way to Kedah, where he was seen driving past a guardhouse in Bandar Laguna Merbok at 9.30pm.

Later, a netizen told Vicky that her father’s last known location was a hamburger stall in Baling heading towards Kuala Pegang, where he had stopped to ask for directions.
However, when Vicky and other family members went there to search for Eng, he was nowhere to be found.

Found dead inside car in Kedah
After three agonizing days, Vicky was informed that her father had been found at a village in Baling at 10am today (Apr 21).
Unfortunately, Eng had already breathed his last when he was found. It was also reported that he suffered from mild dementia and asthma.
She told China Press that she has no idea why her father made his way to Kedah and is now out to track down which hospital his body will be sent to.

Despite the tragedy, she expressed gratitude to those who had helped to spread the word regarding Eng’s disappearance and helped in looking for him.
Our condolences to Eng’s family for their loss and we hope they will be able to move on from this tragedy.
