In a heartwarming gesture that has recently gone viral, a Malaysian man gifted a brand-new Honda City Hatchback to his wife as a token of appreciation for giving birth to their seventh child.
Mohd Yazid Ismail shared in a Facebook post that the gift was not only a symbol of his gratitude but also a practical necessity for his wife, making it easier for her to move around after her postpartum recovery.
Alhamdulillah, today we held a small delivery ceremony for the car I gifted my wife in celebration of her giving birth to our seventh child,” Yazid wrote.
Despite his wife’s modesty in saying she didn’t need a new car and could manage with their Kia Carnival, Yazid noticed how difficult it was for her to park the large vehicle. Feeling sorry for her, he decided to surprise her with a smaller car.
It’s a token of appreciation for her sacrifice and resilience in enduring the hardships of pregnancy and the process of giving birth to baby Nawwaf,” he added.
More than just a gift
According to mStar, Yazid expressed that the car could never fully repay his wife’s sacrifices, but he hoped it would at least bring her some joy and comfort.
This car gift cannot truly repay my wife’s sacrifices, but at least it can make her feel appreciated. That’s what matters,” he said.
Yazid also reflected on how often his wife is exhausted from taking care of their newborn, and how small gestures of appreciation can go a long way in lifting her spirits.
A token of appreciation doesn’t have to be extravagant—even a bouquet of flowers would suffice. But, you know, flower shops are hard to find, unlike jewellery stores, which are everywhere.
“So it’s easier just to buy a necklace or bracelet—it’s all good. After all, it’s for our wife, not someone else.”
Not the first time
Interestingly, this isn’t the first time Yazid has surprised his wife with a car. He previously gifted her a Mazda CX5 when she safely delivered their sixth child.
Yazid also shared that he once took a year off from work to be by his wife’s side, helping to care for their newborn twins—a testament to his deep commitment to his family.
