A 42-year-old man in Papar, Sabah, lost his life after he reportedly suffered an electrocution while picking some mangoes from a tree.
According to Harian Metro, the incident took place at Kampung Bambangan yesterday afternoon (June 8).

The Malay daily reported that the victim, Ahajah Abdul Musa, was using a metal pole to pluck mangoes from the end of a branch when the metal pole came into contact with a nearby power cable.

Papar Fire and Rescue Station (BBP) Chief, Assistant Fire Superintendent Rozlan Osman, said they received an emergency call regarding the incident at 3.01pm.
“Upon arriving at the scene, the victim was found unconscious in the mango tree, where he was believed to have been electrocuted.
“The team proceeded to bring the victim down from the tree using a ladder and rescue rope after the electricity supply was cut off by Sabah Electricity,” he told Harian Metro.
Ahajah was later confirmed dead at the scene by the Ministry of Health (KKM) officials and his body was handed over to the police for further action.
