We’ve all been there, struggling to wake up in the morning, hitting snooze one too many times, and hoping we don’t accidentally sleep through something important.
Some people set gentle alarms to wake up peacefully, while others go full panic mode with sirens blaring.
But what happens when an alarm is so ridiculous that it wakes up everyone except the person who set it?
That’s exactly what happened to one guy who found himself wide awake, not because of his own alarm, but his friend’s.
And to make matters even worse (or funnier), the alarm wasn’t just some ordinary ringtone.
Nope, this one featured Doraemon’s voice droning on and on, so long, it could’ve been mistaken for a full episode.
Doraemon takes over the morning shift
In a viral TikTok video posted by @imrancenai, a man is seen sitting up, looking dazed and confused as an obnoxiously loud alarm blares in the background.
At first, it starts with a dramatic sound effect, and then because chaos wasn’t enough, Doraemon’s unmistakable voice yells: “Wake up, you crazy! It’s already morning!”
The alarm goes on for 25 straight seconds, looping endlessly while the actual phone owner? Completely knocked out, dead to the world.
The guy recording the video sits there, waiting, hoping, praying that his friend will finally wake up and put an end to this cartoonish nightmare. But, of course, nothing happens.
The ultimate test of patience
After several painfully long seconds of Doraemon nagging at full volume, the recorder finally gives up.
Accepting his fate, he drags himself out of bed, walks over, and turns off the alarm himself.
At this point, you can practically feel his exhaustion.
“I lost count how many times he’s done this”
Speaking to WeirdKaya, Imran revealed that this wasn’t the first time his roommate had used a cartoon-themed alarm.
This has happened so many times already, I’ve lost count,” he said with a laugh.
Still, the Doraemon alarm stood out, mainly because of how dramatic it was.
My first reaction was like, ‘Oh wow, he’s got a new alarm again?’” Imran recalled.
At the same time, it brought back childhood memories, so I was confused but a little nostalgic too.”
However, that nostalgia didn’t last long.
A bit of trauma (and a lot of patience)
When asked whether he was now traumatised by Doraemon’s voice, Imran joked:
It’s just the opening bell that I can’t stand anymore, that part haunts me,” he said, laughing.
You’d think he’d confront his roommate about the chaos, but apparently, that wasn’t going to help.
I didn’t say anything. He’s not the type to listen to me anyway,” Imran shrugged.
But funny enough, last night he changed his alarm to Wonder Pets. Yup, the same one he used last year.”
At this point, Imran’s sleep seems to be at the mercy of whatever cartoon theme his roommate picks next.

The video instantly struck a chord with netizens, who flooded the comments section with their own alarm horror stories.
One person shared, “My younger sibling set their alarm to Detective Conan’s theme song, and they still wouldn’t wake up”

Someone else revealed, “I once set my alarm to a pontianak’s creepy laughter at 3 AM to scare my sister. When it went off, we both got the fright of our lives, then ended up hugging each other out of fear before going back to sleep .”
Why are alarm clocks like this?
At this point, we have to ask, are alarm clocks really designed to wake you up, or just anyone within a 5km radius?
Whether it’s a ridiculously loud ringtone, an owner who sleeps like a log, or a bestie forced to intervene, one thing is clear, waking up is a team effort.
