At what point does hunger turn into rage?
For one man in Penang, it only took a simple miscommunication and a missing plate of noodles.
What began as a simple question at a busy hawker stall turned into a full-blown outburst, now making its rounds online.
“Which plate is mine?” turns into public meltdown

The incident happened around 7pm on July 5 at New Lane, Penang.
A passerby caught the tense moment on video, which quickly went viral.
In the clip, the man looked frustrated after allegedly being ignored when he asked which plate of char koay teow belonged to him.
He then started shouting at one of the two stallholders, and at one point, appeared to slap the hawker in the heat of the moment.
Wok flipped, tempers flared

Instead of walking away, the situation escalated further.
One of the stall owners warned the man that he would call the police, but the man challenged him to do so.
He then stormed over and flipped the hawker’s entire wok in front of stunned customers.
The outburst shocked those at the scene, with many unsure of how to react.
Hawker reports the incident but chooses forgiveness
Later that evening, one of the hawkers lodged a police report.
However, Timur Laut deputy police chief Lee Swee Sake announced that the case would not move forward.
Investigations revealed that the suspect had apologised after the incident, and the hawker decided to forgive him.
No one hurt, no property damaged
As there were no injuries or losses, the complainant told police he did not wish to pursue the matter further. The case has since been closed with no further action taken.
