There’s a phrase that goes: ‘There’s a time and place for everything’, and this definitely applies to when one takes public transportation.
Unfortunately, there are a handful of people who can’t seem to grasp this concept and proceed to carry out actions that many would deem inappropriate while taking the MRT.
Man does pull-ups inside MRT
In a video posted in a Threads post, it showed a young man doing pull-ups inside the MRT while grasping onto the handlebar.

However, it’s not known whether he was aware of the fact that he was being recorded or had committed an offence.
In the caption, the OP was less than amused by the man’s impromptu workout session, writing: “People are so strange these days. If you want to be healthy, at least wait until you find a tree (to do pull-ups). I cannot brain.”
Those caught vandalising or damaging MRT property are liable to prosecution under the Local Government Act (Vandalism By-Laws 1991), where they face a fine of up to RM2,000 or jail time not more than a year.
They may also face action under the Land Public Transport Commission Act 2010.
Outrage
Netizens weren’t exactly pleased with the man’s workout and called him out for it in the comment section.
‘The pull-ups are impressive but not the place. Please don’t Westernise Malaysia. I had enough of Western BS in Malaysia.’

‘When he breaks the handlebar, he will blame it all on Transport Minister Anthony Loke.’

A netizen sarcastically said the man was probably a wild monkey who came to the city after losing its home to deforestation.

Another urged the OP to lodge a complaint with RapidKL and Prasarana so that action could be taken.

Please respect public facilities and if you really need to workout, do it at the nearest gym!
