A routine morning ride to work turned tragic for a 59-year -old man who died after his motorcycle collided with a horse that suddenly crossed the road in Melaka.
According to Sinar Harian, this incident took place at about 7.10am on Tuesday.
The victim, Rajak Ismail, worked as a cleaner at Universiti Teknologi MARA Jasin and was riding his Yamaha Y16ZR from Serkam towards Semujuk.
According to Jasin district acting police chief, Deputy Superintendent Nor Azlinda Nordin, early investigations showed that the horse had run across the road from the left side right as the victim approached the area.
Rajak did not have enough time to avoid the animal and ended up crashing into it.
The impact left him with severe injuries and he was pronounced dead at the scene.
His body was later taken to the Forensic Unit at Jasin Hospital for a post-mortem before being released to his family.
Police tracking down horse owner
Police said while there were no CCTV cameras around the area, officers managed to identify and interview the owner of the horse to assist with investigations.
