A man was tragically killed in a freak accident due to his octogenarian father stepping on the gas medal by accident in a jump-start attempt, leading him to get crushed in between two vehicles.
According to Guang Ming Daily, the harrowing incident took place in Kepong at around 10am last Friday (July 25).

M’sian man crushed between 2 vehicles
A neighbour told the Chinese daily that the victim was heading out to work but couldn’t start the lorry’s engine, prompting him to seek help from his father in jump-starting the vehicle.
When his father arrived at the scene, he reportedly stepped on the gas pedal instead of the brake. As a result, the car lurched forward and pinned the victim, who was standing nearby, between the car and lorry.

Unfortunately, he didn’t survive and died at the scene due to severe injuries, including fractured ribs.
The victim’s body was later sent to Kuala Lumpur General Hospital’s mortuary, while other family members arrived at the scene not long after.
Overcome with guilt & grief
Following the incident, the victim’s father has since shut himself up at home and refused to see anyone due to an overwhelming sense of guilt and grief.

The neighbour added that he hopes others will respect the old man’s privacy, adding that he “truly felt sorry for what happened as this is something no one wants to experience.”
He also said both the lorry and the car involved in the incident reportedly belonged to the deceased, with the car being taken to the police station for further action.
