There have been countless clips and photos which have captured owners of Singapore-registered cars using RON95, which is against Malaysian law, in broad daylight.
While most would just sit back, film the illegal act, and go about with their day, there are a rare few who would actually step in and do something, like how this one man did.
M’sian man calmly confronts driver
In a 53-second TikTok video, the timestamp showed that the incident took place at an undisclosed petrol station yesterday (Aug 26), along with the in-text caption: ‘POV: Penyamun di pagi hari ini’ (POV: A pirate this morning).
In the clip, a man is seen pumping RON95 into his Singapore-registered car and didn’t seem to care that what he was doing was unlawful.
15 seconds into the clip, a man dressed in a batik shirt then walks towards the man. While the conversation wasn’t audible, it is presumed that the former was confronting the latter for breaking the law.

Following the calm confrontation, the batik-clad man walks away while shaking in head along with a look which screamed: ‘I’m not angry, I’m just disappointed.’
As for the driver, he seemed a bit embarrassed by the encounter and sheepishly closed the fuel cap before driving off with the receipt.

Praised by netizens
In the comment section, many commended the batik-clad man for intervening and stopping the driver from pumping RON95 into his car.
‘Good job, brother. We need more brave people like you in Johor Bahru (JB).’

‘(The driver) lives in a country where the currency has a higher value than ours, but he still wants to steal our subsidies.’

Meanwhile, some called for the owner of the petrol station to be arrested for letting the driver pump RON95 under their watch.
