What started off as a quiet evening spent between a man and his mother quickly evolved into tragedy when the former suddenly passed out inside the car as they were about to go home.
Despite his mother’s attempts to get help from passersby, it proved to be futile as the man was later pronounced dead at the scene.
Went out for dinner with mum
According to China Press, the tragedy took place at the Lawan Kuda New Village in Gopeng, Perak yesterday evening (Nov 20).
It is understood that the 60-year-old victim named Huang Qiang (transliteration) was single and worked as a painter.
He also lived with his mother, who is about 80 years old, and both of them would usually dine at a restaurant near their home.
According to villagers, the duo had gone to the restaurant as usual at around 5pm. After the meal, Huang was preparing to drive back home with his mother when he suddenly lost consciousness and didn’t respond to his mother when she called out to him repeatedly.
This then prompted her to seek help from villagers who were nearby.
Heart attack suspected to be cause of death
When police and medical personnel rushed to the scene, it proved to be a little too late as Huang was pronounced dead at the scene.
Huang’s family are now in the process of making his funeral arrangements.
Villagers later told Sin Chew Daily that Huang suffered from kidney disease and that they believe he may have died due to a heart attack.
