Bought fried chicken to celebrate
In a Threads post, the OP said her younger brother had just received his first ever salary and used it to buy fried chicken as a treat for the family.
This was because none of them had fried chicken growing up as they couldn’t afford it.
Just when they were about to dig into the meal, their father suddenly became very angry and began scolding his son loudly.
He said it was a waste of money and that the money could have been used to buy a whole chicken instead.
“However, the irony was that our father never once taken us out to eat before,” wrote the OP.
In the end, the joyous atmosphere was thoroughly ruined and the OP said none of them dared to eat the fried chicken anymore.

In the comment section, many expressed pity for the OP’s situation and slammed her father for being a “killjoy”.
