A disturbing video has been making the rounds online showing a woman being assaulted by a man in the middle of the road at a traffic light junction.
In the early morning footage, a barefoot woman dressed in a baju kurung is seen pleading for help before being attacked by a man.
The unsettling scene was caught by a passerby, and it quickly went viral on social media, sparking concern and outrage from netizens.
Police confirm incident
Following the video’s circulation, Shah Alam police have confirmed that the incident did happen in Taman Budiman Valley, Section U15, Shah Alam.
According to Utusan TV, Shah Alam District Police Chief Assistant Commissioner Mohd Iqbal Ibrahim said a 24-year-old woman lodged a report at 4.35am on the same day.
She was driving with a friend in a Perodua Axia along Persiaran Mokhtar Dahari from Shah Alam towards Puncak Alam when they were stopped by the distressed woman.
A Malay woman, dressed in baju kurung and barefoot, signalled for help by stopping their vehicle,” he said.
However, police revealed that the woman who was attacked in the video has not come forward or filed any report regarding the incident. Her identity remains unknown.
Victim urged to come forward
Authorities are now urging the victim to lodge a report immediately so they can carry out a proper investigation and offer any needed assistance.
