One Malaysian lecturer’s patience was pushed to the limit after she discovered a shocking error in her students’ assignment, her own name, Siti Aisyah binti Jumpaan, had been turned into “SITE AISHYAH B*TCH MEETING.”
The mistake happened after a student group relied entirely on AI to produce their work and submitted it without checking even the basics. AI ended up turning her real name; Siti Aisyah binti Jumpaan into an offensive and nonsensical phrase, with “binti Jumpaan” transformed into “B*tch Meeting.”
Sharing the incident on social media, the lecturer said the error wasn’t just careless, it felt disrespectful.
Deduct their marks because the whole content is clearly AI. My brain hurts. This requires god-level patience. I’m angry but mostly disappointed. I feel disrespected. And not even one person had the brain to double check.”
She added that it was a group assignment, making it even harder to understand how multiple students failed to notice the glaring mistake.
‘AI is a tool, it helps if used wisely’
Her post quickly gained attention online, with many Malaysians expressing shock and disbelief over the students’ carelessness.
One netizen used a simple analogy: ‘AI is like a knife. If you use it to cut vegetables, it helps you. If you use it to stab your own stomach, that’s your problem.’
Another wrote: ‘My wife would’ve torn the assignment into pieces right in front of them for such blatant plagiarism.’
Netizens were also frustrated by the lack of basic checking from the entire group as it reeked of sloppiness and academic fraud.
‘How lazy do you have to be to not check your lecturer’s name? That’s the most basic thing. If we let them build a condo, it would collapse within seconds,’ one fumed.
