For most people, their university days are the happiest and most memorable period of their lives, but for some, it can mean days of uncertainty and suffering in silence due to circumstances.
Netizens were recently moved to tears over a note left by a student who explained the heartbreaking reason why he was forced to borrow money from a mosque located within the university’s grounds.
‘I’m hungry and I’m sorry’
In a photo shared in TikTok video posted by @ckgnizam, it showed a handwritten note being displayed on the screen to a group of students at a lecture hall.
Here’s what the note said:

Assalamualaikum, everyone. I borrowed RM7.65 from the mosque’s money box. I’m sorry. I haven’t eaten for three days as I have no money.
“InsyaAllah, I will repay the money as soon as possible. I’m one of the students at this college. Thank you. May God bless all of you. Please pray that I’ll be strong.”
Netizens moved by student’s plight
In the comment section, netizens were saddened to see the uni student being forced to go hungry for days due to his financial situation and expressed sympathy for him.
‘To the person who wrote the note, I don’t know who you are but I pray that your sustenance will be as wide as the ocean.’

‘Please help this kid out. I’m crying after reading about his experience.’

A netizen noted that students have no choice but to starve themselves and save money as food sold at university canteens are getting more expensive.

Meanwhile, the incident has reportedly caught the attention of Majlis Amanah Rakyat (MARA) chairman Datuk Dr. Asyraf Wajdi Dusuki, who requested for more information regarding the student so that assistance may be given to him.
