When it comes to Malaysia’s badminton legends, the first that everyone will name is none other than Dato’ Seri Lee Chong Wei, who achieved countless accolades throughout his illustrious career.
However, a local influencer and Wagyu Pizza vendor made a major gaffe when he accidentally name-dropped Lin Dan as a national badminton player, leading to widespread mockery from netizens.
Named Lin Dan as national badminton player
The Freudian slip was made by Jofliam in an Instagram story, which showed him sending his kids to school.

In the clip, he compared his young son to a national badminton player, but instead of naming one that actually came from Malaysia, he named Lin Dan instead.
For the uninitiated, Jofliam is the founder of Pizza Wagyu Jofliam and was crowned the 99th best pizza chef globally in 2024 during The Best Pizza in The World Competition in Milan, Italy.
Netizens go ‘huh?!’
As one would expect, Jofliam’s verbal slip didn’t go unnoticed by netizens, who wasted no time in roasting him in the comments.
‘Later he will say that he only named a national badminton player but not the country of origin.’

‘Every day he never fails to show how dumb he is.’

Meanwhile, one said Jofliam’s poor general knowledge could be due to the face that he never graduated from the International Islamic University Malaysia (UIA) and sarcastically said his IQ level matched his education.

We hope Dato’ Seri Lee Chong Wei doesn’t get offended after reading this!
