His brother was also involved in this.
A Malaysian influencer has left the internet stunned after it was revealed that he faked his own disappearance by dumping his wife’s car into a river—all so he could remarry in Thailand.

Influencer fakes his disappearance

A recent viral post by @mingguanwanita revealed a bizarre case where a man allegedly faked his own disappearance. It began on July 15, when a Perodua Axia, later identified as his wife’s car, was found submerged in a river near Bukit Kepong, Johor, raising immediate suspicions.

Even more alarming? The driver was missing. There was no trace of the man anywhere near the scene, fueling fears that he might have drowned or been involved in foul play.

Acting on this suspicion, the Fire and Rescue Department launched a massive search-and-rescue mission involving 77 personnel, K9 units, drones, and divers. But after several hours of combing the area, there was still no sign of him.

Turns out, he was safe.

According to the official police statement, they later discovered that the influencer, 38-year-old Tengku Nizaruddin, wasn’t missing at all.

According to Kosmo, he had crossed the border into Thailand to get married to another woman, all while the public and his family believed he had vanished without a trace.

According to Muar district police chief Asst Comm Raiz Mukhliz Azman Aziz, the man staged the disappearance by abandoning the car in the river and fleeing with his passport.

“He deliberately threw his wife’s car into the river and then made his way to Thailand to marry another woman,” said Raiz.

Even the brother was involved

Making the situation even more complicated, the influencer’s younger brother was the one who lodged the missing person’s report but police now believe he was in on the act.

Both brothers are now being investigated under Section 182 (for providing false information) and Section 109 of the Penal Code (abetment).

If convicted, they could face up to six months in prison and/or a fine of RM2,000.
