A Malaysian woman has gone viral after admitting that she sometimes wishes she could turn back time and choose a different life path before getting married.
Despite having a responsible husband who fully provides for the family and being pregnant with their third child, she confessed that she misses having independence and her own career.
“If I could rewind time, I would not get married”
In her post on Threads, the woman said she has been a housewife for seven years and relies completely on her husband for all living expenses.
She said she is grateful for what she has, but deep down, she wishes she could return to her younger days, build a career and earn her own money.
I am a housewife. Married for seven years. My husband is a full provider. Soon I will be a mother of three. But if you ask me what I want, I want to rewind time. I do not want to get married. I want to work and have my own money, meet people… but I love my children.”

Feels her life revolves only around family
She explained that her life has become very limited and lonely, to the point where she has turned into an introverted person.
This also makes her more sensitive to her husband’s remarks.
It is not that I am ungrateful and I am not burnt out. My husband is good but I always feel hurt by his words.”

She added that although her husband is a provider, she feels completely empty and believes he looks down on her.
I feel very empty. I feel looked down on by my own husband. I do not talk back because I respect him and his sacrifices for our small family.”
Says she cannot even express her exhaustion
The woman said the saddest part is that she does not feel safe enough to say she is tired, because her husband once snapped at her and told her to go out and work if she wanted to complain.
Her confession drew sympathy from many Malaysians, especially mothers who said they understood her frustration.
Many commented that balancing motherhood and marriage is never easy, and that being a housewife also comes with emotional and mental challenges that often go unnoticed.
