M’sian Fed Up With People Standing In The LRT Exit Lane, Posts Clear Guide On Where To Queue

Please lah, let people keluar dulu.
“Spread this like how you spread rumours,” wrote one Malaysian man who had clearly reached his limit with LRT boarding chaos.

His humorous but painfully relatable PSA about queuing manners, complete with a labelled photo showing the correct way to stand has since gone viral among fed-up commuters who say the issue has gone on for far too long.

The post points out something extremely basic that many Malaysians already know, yet somehow still ignore: let people exit before you enter.

To underscore the point, he attached a photo taken at an LRT platform. The image shows a Rapid KL train door with clear labels indicating where passengers should queue, and a large yellow box marking the exit lane.

The left and right sides are designated for boarding queues, while the centre lane is strictly meant for passengers exiting the train.

He listed four simple rules that he said every commuter should “digest”:

  1. Queue on the sides as shown in the arrows.
  2. Always let people exit first.
  3. Do not stand or wait in the exit pathway.
  4. Do not cut the queue.

“This has been here for decades, but people still don’t follow”

The post quickly drew agreement from Malaysians who shared similar frustrations.

One user reminded everyone about escalator etiquette too: “Stay on the left. If you stand on the right, please walk fast.”

Another commented that even though these rules have been around “for decades,” people still cannot follow them.

Some urged Rapid KL to reinforce these reminders through posters, ads and social media content, especially to address those who rush into the yellow box and block passengers from exiting.

Another frustrated commuter revealed that he sometimes taps offenders on the shoulder and scolds them: “Are you blind? Can’t you see everyone is queuing?”

Others said people who rarely use public transport tend to zoom straight into the cabin without realising they’re blocking the exit “like a clueless stick,” one wrote.
