He had to walk after his motorcycle broke down.
In a heartwarming display of dedication, a father from Bukit Abal has gone the extra mile—literally—to make sure his daughter doesn’t miss out on her education.

Walking 6 kilometres every day, this committed Malaysian father has been accompanying his daughter to and from school to ensure she receives the education she deserves.

A Daily 6KM Journey for Education

Izara, a Year 6 student, has been walking 3 kilometres to school each day with her father by her side. Together, they complete the 6-kilometre round trip, as her school is quite a distance from their home.

According to the post, sometimes kind-hearted villagers offer them a ride when they pass by. Izara’s older sister, currently in Form 2, has a much shorter journey—only 1.5 kilometres from home.

But for Izara and her father, the daily walk has become a necessity after their motorbike, which once got them to school, broke down.

Unfortunately, financial difficulties have prevented them from repairing it.

A Father’s Love and Sacrifice

Despite the challenges, he ensures that Izara never misses a day of school.

Izara, too, reflects her father’s dedication—once she returns home, she will dives straight into her studies, revising her lessons and showing a level of discipline far beyond her years.

Inspired by her commitment, Abbe Hae announced in his Facebook post that he would provide Izara with a monthly scholarship starting in October 2024 to support her educational journey.

Community Kindness

Beyond just offering financial aid, Abbe also requested that the family’s motorbike be repaired as soon as possible, with all expenses covered.

This means that Izara and her father will no longer have to rely on their daily walks or the goodwill of villagers for transportation to school.

As Abbe expressed in his heartfelt post, the local community deserves thanks as well, particularly those who have been kind enough to offer rides to Izara and her father.

Abbe also thanked Jep, the person who brought this story to light, and the imam of the village mosque.
