Sometimes, when you’re in need of help, a simple act of kindness can truly brighten your day.
According to Sin Chew Daily and mStar, a Malaysian mother, still recovering from childbirth, found unexpected comfort in the form of a kind-hearted Chinese e-hailing driver during a difficult trip to the hospital to visit her newborn daughter.
Newborn being treated in NICU
Sharing her emotional experience on TikTok, the woman recounted how her daughter, Hasannah, was currently being treated in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) at Tunku Azizah Hospital in Kuala Lumpur due to a neurological condition.
With her husband having just started work at a new location, she had no choice but to make the one-hour journey to the hospital on her own.

Since she had only given birth seven days earlier and was not in a condition to drive, she opted for an e-hailing ride.
“Is it okay for me to cry?”
I tried my best to hold back tears throughout the trip, but the Chinese uncle driving the car noticed something was wrong,” she said.
“He gently asked if I was okay and whether I needed help. I asked him if it was okay for me to cry in his car.”
To her surprise, the driver responded with compassion. He slowed down the car to give her time to cry and process her emotions.
Then, in a warm tone, he reminded her, “Your child may be sick, but you just gave birth, and you’re also a patient. You need to take care of yourself too.”
He even stopped at a shop to buy her a hot drink and some food — a small act that meant the world to her in that moment.
The woman shared that the driver later revealed he too had a child with special needs, so he deeply understood her pain.
He told me it’s not the parents’ fault. Children with special needs are a gift from above.” She shared.
Reminded her of a father’s love
Though her tears didn’t stop, she was moved by how the driver spoke with simple yet profound empathy.
Upon reaching the hospital, he told her gently to take her time and only drove off after making sure she had safely entered the building.
The mother, whose own father had passed away, said the experience reminded her of a father’s love — protective, comforting, and unconditional.
She ended her post by saying she hoped to cross paths with the kind driver again one day, calling his kindness a reminder that goodness transcends race and religion.
