Who says you can’t be polite while cutting queues on the road? A group of young Malaysians proved that with a little humour and respect, even the most annoying road maneuvers can leave people smiling.
In a now-viral TikTok clip, a driver in a silver compact car found themselves stuck in the wrong lane during a jam.
But instead of barging in unannounced, the group decided to “ask for permission” in the most wholesome and Malaysian way possible.
One passenger leaned out of the car window, bowing slightly with a polite hand gesture commonly used to signal respect or request permission to pass.
Another passenger waved their hand in a lighthearted manner, signalling their intentions to merge.
And it worked! The amused driver gave way, proving that a little courtesy goes a long way.

Netizens loved it
The video quickly gained traction, and the comments section was flooded with praise and laughs.
“If everyone did this, I wouldn’t mind if even 10 trailers wanted to cut in,” one netizen joked.

‘I hope more Malaysian drivers are like this when they cut lanes. At least be funny.’

‘His signal light might be spoilt…but he does show a high level of manners.’
