A Malaysian driver received an unexpected surprise after discovering a tiny kitten hiding inside her car engine while seeking shelter from the continuous downpour.
In a Threads post, the woman said the weather had been cold and rainy the entire day, and she suspected that small animals might be looking for warm spots to hide, including car engines.
Kitten hide into the engine compartment
I was just about to leave the parking lot, but the meow was so close. I didn’t expect it to be inside the car engine at all,” she wrote.
According to her, the kitten had crawled deep into the engine compartment to escape the rain, unknowingly putting itself in danger.
She only noticed the animal after hearing faint sounds coming from the front of her vehicle.
Your life is really long, sweetheart,” she said, relieved that the kitten was found in time. “We stood in the rain just to search for you.”
Check the car before driving
The woman eventually managed to safely retrieve the kitten with the help of others.
Pet owners and drivers often warn that small animals, especially cats, tend to hide in warm engine compartments during cold or rainy weather. Malaysians are reminded to tap the hood or make some noise before starting their cars to prevent accidents.
The viral clip has since warmed hearts online, with many praising the woman for noticing the tiny cries and saving the little feline just in time.
