A delivery rider was commended for his honesty after he took the initiative to track down the rightful owner of a lost wallet and ensure it was returned.
The heartwarming incident was shared in a Xiaohongshu (XHS) post by the daughter of the wallet’s owner, who recounted the entire process.
Lost wallet at petrol station
In the post, the OP wrote her dad lost his wallet at a petrol station in Penang at 10pm on Monday (June 16), where it contained RM2,000 in cash, his IC, and bank cards.

It wasn’t two hours after the incident did her dad realise his wallet was missing. He then lodged a police report thinking that his wallet was gone for good.
But to his surprise, someone called him the next day, telling him that a delivery rider had found his wallet.
M’sian delivery rider praised for returning wallet
After getting in touch with the delivery rider, the OP’s dad went to retrieve his wallet and expecting to recover only his IC and bank cards. But to his pleasant surprise, everything including the cash was left intact.

He later learned that the delivery rider initially wanted to hand the wallet to the petrol station staff but decided otherwise as he was afraid it would land in the wrong hands.
As such, he asked around among his fellow delivery riders to see if anyone knew the OP’s dad. Coincidentally, one of them did.
The OP wrote her dad rewarded the delivery rider with RM500 as a token of appreciation for his honesty.

She also urged Penangites to give the delivery rider a 5-star rating if they ever crossed paths with him.
“At that moment, it wasn’t just the wallet that was returned—but also trust, goodwill, and a rare kind of warmth.
“This city may not be perfect, but stories like this remind us that kindness still exists,” she wrote.
