Malaysian cooking content creator @Richard_is_cooking recently gave fans a glimpse of a wholesome family moment by sharing his SPM results side-by-side with his son’s.
In a Facebook post uploaded on Apr. 24, Richard posted a photo of himself and his son smiling proudly while holding up their SPM certificates.
But the real comedy gold was in the grades, which he didn’t hesitate to laugh at himself about.
“Keputusan SPM Ayah vs Anak… jauh ngat beza haha..” he joked, referring to the massive gap between his results and his son’s.
From 7Ds To Straight As
Richard’s own SPM slip from 2002 showed a rather humble set of grades. He scored 7D for Bahasa Melayu, 7D for Bahasa Inggeris, 7D for Pendidikan Seni, 8E for Prinsip Akaun, and 7D for Bahasa Cina.
Not exactly the stuff scholarship dreams are made of — and Richard cheekily labelled it “SPM Ayah 🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️” on the post.
In contrast, his son absolutely smashed it with his 2024 SPM results.
He achieved an A (Cemerlang Tinggi) for Bahasa Melayu, Bahasa Inggeris, Pendidikan Moral, Sejarah, Matematik, Fizik, Biologi, and Bahasa Cina, along with an impressive A+ (Cemerlang Tertinggi) for Additional Mathematics and Chemistry.
The glow-up between generations couldn’t be more obvious — and Richard was nothing but proud.
