A father was left distraught after his teenage daughter left the home without a word for more than 24 hours.
When contacted by China Press to recount the events that led to her disappearance, the man could hardly keep his emotions together and kept sobbing on the phone.
Left home in an e-hailing car
Speaking to the Chinese daily, Liu Youyan (transliteration) said he finished work at around 6.30pm on Tuesday (Jan 20) and found that his daughter Liu Zixin wasn’t in their Ara Damansara home.
He also noticed that her clothes, MyKad, birth certificate, and passport were also missing from her room.

“I checked CCTV footage and found out that she left the house at around 6.07pm in what appeared to be an e-hailing car.
“My daughter and I used to share an app that allowed us to track family members’ locations in real time, but after she left, she uninstalled it and I’m unable to know where she is or contact her,” he said.
Liu added netizens had sent him screenshots of his daughter’s Instagram Stories, but he wasn’t able to send her messages as her account has restrictions in place.

Relationship went south after BF came into picture
Liu added he and his daughter used to share a very strong bond, but that all went downhill after she got into a relationship with an 18-year-old boy.
After knowing him, her personality changed noticeably and she even engaged in self-harm several times, which got me extremely worried.
“Recently, I discovered she was harming herself again and immediately sent her to the hospital for treatment. I also ask the boyfriend and his mother to come over, where he and my daughter promised not to see each other again.”

Liu added that he took care of his daughter’s handphone while she was at the hospital but never expected her to take hold of it and run away from home.
‘She’s my only child’
Liu said he was protective of his daughter as she was his only child. He added that it wasn’t until she entered Form Four that he slowly allowed her to make friends but never thought it would bring more heartache.
“My heart really hurts. I only hope that she can come home as soon as possible and be safe,” he said.
Liu urged members of the public to help look out for his daughter and call 012-892 1488 if they have further information.
