A Malaysian father found himself “victimised by his own promise” after his young son really did score full marks in his exam — earning himself a RM1,000 reward straight from dad’s wallet.
The incident was shared by local actor Fazrun Rafi, who uploaded the videos on Threads.
“If you get 100 marks, I’ll give you RM1,000”
According to Fazrun, the whole situation started about two weeks ago when he picked up his son, Hak, from school.
He casually asked how the exam went, only to be met with an extremely confident answer.
Hak calmly said the questions were easy and that he could get 100 marks. I didn’t believe him at all,” he wrote.
Half-joking, he then threw in an outrageous promise:
If you really get 100 marks, I’ll give you RM1,000.”
The moment Hak heard this, he immediately got excited and demanded his father swear on it.
But the boy really did it
To Fazrun’s shock, Hak actually returned home with a perfect score.
What’s scarier is he said there are still two more papers he’s confident he will score 100 too. Tomorrow I really need to go see the teacher and change those marks,” he joked in his caption.

In the video, Hak can be seen bursting with excitement as he tells his father he really got 100 marks and immediately asks for the promised reward. His mother was equally thrilled when she saw the perfect score.
Dad pays up, literally
Another clip shows Hak proudly holding his 100-mark test paper, looking smug yet adorably pleased with himself.
To honour his promise, Fazrun went straight to the bank, withdrew RM1,000 from the ATM, and handed the cash to Hak himself.
The little boy even thanked his father for keeping his word.

Netizens‘ comment
The heartwarming (and slightly painful) moment left Malaysians amused. Many joked that Fazrun had no choice but to “pay the price for talking big”.
Others wished Hak good luck in scoring full marks in the remaining papers. so that his dad can “continue going bankrupt”.
“That’s only Year 1, bro. Still got 5 more years to go. Good luck, bro — one subject is fine, but if all 8 subjects also get 100 marks, this kid will become a millionaire lah…”

“Is the father laughing happily or about to cry? Hahaha.”

“Nice one, bang. Let the kid stay motivated and study even harder 🤭”
