After losing her mother, a Malaysian woman shared the difficulties she faced when her father decided to remarry, choosing a young widow with several children.
According to mStar, the woman share online that she and her siblings initially tried to stop the marriage, worried about their father’s financial situation.
Young widow with small children
According to her, her father does not have a stable income, while his new wife is a young widow with small children who still require financial support.
His intention was to marry again, but the woman he chose is a widow with many young kids. My siblings and I objected at first because our father has no steady income,” she shared.
Eventually, they gave in, fearing they would be labelled unfilial if they continued to oppose the marriage.
Ask for money every month
However, after the wedding, their concerns became reality. The woman claimed her stepmother frequently asked their father to request financial help from the children, knowing that all of them run their own businesses.
Every month, my stepmother uses my father to ask us for money. Sometimes even RM3,000 isn’t enough,” she alleged, adding that each of them already has their own families and commitments to support.
After enduring the situation for some time, the siblings eventually agreed to stop giving regular financial assistance.
Despite this, the woman admitted feeling guilty and wondered whether their decision made them unfilial children.
