Malaysian cycling star Azizulhasni Awang, known as “Pocket Rocketman,” has been captivating fans with virtual tours of the Paris Olympic Village through engaging and informative videos.
Having won medals in the past two Olympic Games, Azizul is now sharing the daily life and facilities of Malaysian athletes in the Olympic Village.
Azizul’s routine in the Olympic Village
Upon arriving in Paris, Azizul, nicknamed “Ji Joe,” began posting videos on TikTok, offering glimpses into various corners of the Olympic Village.
Before his cycling event, he introduced the facilities and daily routines of the athletes with a relaxed and humorous touch.
Azizul’s videos have shown fans how athletes use their access passes to get sports drinks and water, the transportation options within the village, and the popular Olympic Rings photo spot.
He also gave a tour of the Malaysian team’s living quarters and a dedicated medical room equipped with treatment beds and staffed with a doctor, physical therapists, and sports therapists.
Free laundry services
In another video, Azizul showcased the Olympic Village laundry room, which provides free laundry services from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. Athletes can have their laundry done by showing their access pass, and clothes sent before 10 a.m. are returned the same day.
Azizul also documented the process of entering the Olympic Village, highlighting the stringent security measures and interacting warmly with the staff.
