A couple’s joy over their new car was short-lived when their recently purchased vehicle was suddenly engulfed by a flash flood in Puchong yesterday evening.
Azhazul Azri took to Facebook to recount the incident, revealing that his sibling, a car salesperson, had delivered the Proton X50 to the customers around 5 pm.
However, in a dramatic turn of events, by 6 pm, the new car was submerged due to the sudden flash flood.

Flood is unpredictable
He wrote, “My sibling delivered the car at 5 pm. By 6 pm, the customer’s car was flooded. Floods are a risk we can’t control. One moment it’s sunny at the shopping center, and the next, after a meal and prayers, you come out to find your car drowned. It had been just an hour since it left the showroom.”
Many netizens expressed their sadness over the unfortunate incident.
“Yes, due to the frequent heavy rains, special perils insurance is a must, even if it costs between 300 to 500 per year,” one said.

“Others should be mindful to get natural disaster coverage, as Malaysia’s weather is unpredictable. Just wanting cheap options can lead to headaches later. Be a wise consumer.“
