We Malaysians may fight and bicker among ourselves occasionally, but when there’s someone in need, we can always count on each other regardless of race or skin colour.
Netizens were touched following a now-viral clip which showed a young couple lending support to an elderly makcik who had trouble steadying herself on the escalator at a supermarket.
Gave makcik physical support
In a brief 27-second TikTok video shared by @danishsyazwan, it showed a young couple lending support for the makcik while they were taking the escalator.
The woman was seen placing her hand on the makcik‘s back to ensure she didn’t fall backwards, while her husband moved to hold onto the makcik‘s left hand to give further support.
When they reached the end of the escalator, the couple didn’t leave the makcik behind and continued to support her until both her feet had left the escalator’s surface.
Praise from netizens
The video has since garnered over 200,000 views at the time of writing and netizens couldn’t help but heap praise on the kind couple.
