While we all pick up life skills every now and then after watching several videos online, not everything we watch is suitable to be replicated in real life, especially if it involves drugs.
A local couple learnt this the hard way after they were caught for allegedly growing ganja plants right within their condominium and now face spending the rest of their lives in jail as well as whipping.
Learnt how to grow ganja plants from YouTube videos
According to China Press, the couple were nabbed by police in their rented condominium unit in Bangsar at around 11.30pm yesterday (Nov 6).

Brickfields district police chief Assistant Commissioner Hoo Chang Hook said they were arrested following a raid carried out by the Kuala Lumpur Narcotics Crime Investigation Department.
During the raid, police found two suspected ganja plants and 27g of dried leaves believed to be ganja, worth about RM1,210.
Two mobile phones and several pieces of jewellery, including three necklaces, four pendants and two rings were also seized.
One of the suspects later admitted to police that he began growing the plants seven weeks ago after learning how to do so after watching several YouTube videos.

“Police are currently investigating the source of the ganja plants, including whether the suspects were using them for personal consumption or selling them to other addicts.
“The male suspect has a prior drug-related record and tested positive for drugs, while his partner had no prior criminal records,” said Hoo.
Both suspects, who were unemployed, were remanded for further investigation under Section 6B and Section 15(1)(a) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952 for the cultivation of prohibited plants and consumption of dangerous drugs.
