A young woman has alleged that she was sexually harassed while waiting alone at MRT Kajang Gate A, sparking concern online and prompting police investigations.
In a post shared on Threads, the woman recounted how she had been sitting at the station’s Gate A area while waiting for her parents to pick her up.
She explained that she had earlier been out with a friend, but the two had separated at the MRT, leaving her alone at the time of the incident.
While seated and using her phone, she suddenly felt someone touch her from behind.
Suspect allegedly groped her before fleeing
According to her account, the man had touched her buttocks while she was seated on an open bench with no backrest.
Initially confused, she turned around and saw a man squatting nearby, allegedly staring at her.
She claimed that the man had been watching her for some time before making physical contact, and that she only realised what had happened after he touched her.
Despite the area being crowded at the time, the suspect allegedly carried out the act before quickly running away when she turned around.
She added that she did not manage to record the man’s face as he fled immediately.
Victim says incident left her traumatised
The woman expressed distress over the incident, saying it had left her deeply shaken.
She also emphasised that no one has the right to touch another person without consent, regardless of the situation.
Authorities said they became aware of the case after a post and a 29-second video began circulating online on April 1.
Investigations are ongoing, and efforts are underway to locate and arrest the suspect.
