Stopping at a red light is something every road user knows to do, but what happens when someone treats it like a rest stop?
That’s exactly what happened in Kajang, Selangor. A motorcyclist’s unexpected actions left netizens both confused and amused.
Stops at red light, then makes himself comfortable
In a dashcam video shared by Facebook user Vincent Tan, the elderly man was first seen doing what any rider would: stopping at a red light.
But instead of waiting on his bike, he decided to take a little break, quite literally.
Gets off bike, sits on the divider, and lights a cigarette
Without hesitation, he put down the bike stand, got off, and made his way to sit on the road divider.
As if that wasn’t unexpected enough, he took off his helmet, placed it back on the bike, and parked himself right in the middle of the road while casually smoking a cigarette.
All this happened as cars waited behind him.
Ignores driver’s warning and continues chilling mid-road
Despite being advised by the dashcam driver to move, the man seemed completely unbothered.
With the light turning green and no signs of the rider budging, the driver had to reverse and switch lanes just to continue the journey.
The incident reportedly took place at 8:08 AM on July 7 in Kajang, Selangor.
“Maybe he just needed a moment to think”
The unusual scene quickly sparked a wave of online reactions. Some sympathised, others joked, and a few were just baffled.
“Maybe he’s just looking for a place to reflect on life. So don’t disturb him.”
“Too stressed and tired.”
“Share the location and report to the police.”
While some suggested the man might have simply needed a moment of peace, others urged the dashcam owner to report the incident to prevent future road hazards.
