Some car mods may make your ride look sleek, but they can also land you in tricky situations like this.
A silver Axia with a heavily modified, lowered chassis recently went viral after it struggled to cross a speed bump at a parking lot in KL.
The car’s bumper was too low and ended up scraping the ground with loud screeches, leaving the driver momentarily stuck.
Thankfully, a kind bystander noticed the situation and stepped in to help. In a TikTok video, the man can be seen gently lifting the car’s front bumper to help it clear the bump while the driver slowly moved forward.
The bumper continued to scrape even as the car crept over the bump, but there were no visible damages.

Looks vs practicality
According to the video, many car owners opt to lower their Axia’s chassis for aesthetic reasons.
However, this makes the bumper more prone to scraping against uneven roads or speed bumps, which can affect day-to-day drivability.
Some netizens also pointed out that air suspension systems might be a better option despite being costlier.

These systems allow drivers to adjust the car height on the fly, lifting the car when approaching obstacles while maintaining a low look the rest of the time.
