While it’s common knowledge that smoking while taking public transportation is a big no-no, some still continue to flaunt the law due to their selfishness.
A clip recently surfaced online which showed a bus driver reprimanding an elderly man for taking a puff while inside the bus and causing a mess.
Man confronted for allegedly smoking inside bus
In the clip shared on X (formerly Twitter), it began with the bus driver walking along the aisle leading to the last row of seats at the back of the bus.
The camera then focuses on the older man wearing a kopiah, who gets reminded by the bus driver to not smoke inside the vehicle as there were CCTVs around.
When the bus driver pointed to a small puddle on water on the floor and asked where it came from, the man sheepishly admitted that he had washed his hands while onboard.

This unsurprisingly caused the bus driver to be upset, who then gave the man an earful over treating the bus like his personal toilet.
He also reiterated to the man that his every move was being monitored by CCTVs, adding that “everyone could smell (cigarette smoke)” as the bus was fitted with air-conditioners.

Reactions
Netizens had a range of responses towards the clip, with a handful condemning the man for smoking inside the bus.
‘Take away the kopiah and I wanna see whether there’s a brain underneath it.’

‘Why is the bus driver being so nice? If I were him, I wouldn’t say so much and call or drive the bus directly to the nearest KKM facility. KKM, please issue a summons towards the man for smoking.’

On the other hand, some said the bus driver could have taken a kinder approach, arguing that the man probably didn’t mean to smoke or wash his hands inside the bus.
