KUALA LUMPUR – When Hafiz saw two little boys scooping piped water to their mouths along the street, his heart broke for them.
Hafiz, who runs a food truck at Padang MPAJ Pandan Indah and owner of The Bite Burger, shared the heartbreaking encounter in a Facebook post.
All they need is just clean water
I saw two siblings drinking piped water on the street today. One of them even knelt to the ground to let his brother use him as a ‘platform’ to reach to the pipe.
I almost broke into tears when I saw their pitiful state.”
A little kindness goes a long way
Without a second thought, Hafiz quickly stopped them from drinking the piped water and treated them to burgers and drinks.
“When I asked what they would like to drink, they chose Milo and syrup water.
Seeing the smile on their faces really made my day.”
Netizens were touched by Hafiz’s story and praised him for his kind deed.
His food truck also witnessed a surge of customers shortly after his story went viral.
Hafiz later thanked the public for patronising his business.
A customer told me to keep the change when I was about to return it to him today. I encourage everyone to always offer help to the needy.
Even if it’s just a burger, it might mean a lot to the them.“
Hafiz told WeirdKaya that he began the food truck business in May of this year after losing his job as an executive chef during the lockdown.
The Bite Burger sells a variety of western food, with the homemade smoky beef patty burger, grilled chicken chop burger, and Zinger burger as its top sellers.
