A wedding day is incredibly special and significant to the couple joining in marriage. But if things don’t go as expected, it can really dampen the joy for the bride and groom.
A woman was recently left frustrated at the quality of the decoration of her wedding despite paying close to a whopping RM30,000 for it, much to her disappointment.
M’sian bride disappointed with wedding decor despite paying RM30K
The bride name Asyiqin, took to X to recount in a lengthy thread to describe how she was “scammed” of her money by the wedding planner company and how the promises wasn’t delivered, ultimately spoiling her special day.
In the thread, she said that she was promised to have an aisle and ‘pelamin’ (dais) design done (as shown in the picture above).
However, on the day of the wedding, this was what she got instead:
Asyiqin also mentioned that she was promised butterfly designs would adorn the dais, but it was later seemed to have been hidden behind the flower arrangement, which didn’t quite deliver the envisioned outcome.
Apart from the dais design, she was also promised a photobooth for the guests which included in her ‘all-in-package’, which brought her total cost close to RM30,000.
Unfortunately, the photo booth arrangement was unexpectedly dropped and replaced with a 360° camera that takes video of the guests.
To add insult to injury, the 360° camera wasn’t brought in for the wedding day, and when Asyiqin questioned about it, the wedding planner company simply confessed to forgetting about it.
‘Your expectations are too high’
In a short conversation, Asyiqin told WeirdKaya that she only got to know about the ‘absent’ 360° camera after the wedding was over, where wedding guests were the ones who informed her about it.
“I immediately confronted the wedding planner, who told me that they forgot about it. I then told them that this oversight shouldn’t be as an excuse, considering the fact that I paid RM30,000 for their services.
“The following day, I shared my feedback with the wedding planner and asked for a refund for the 360° camera. However, they declined my request. They even told me that my expectations were too high!”
Asyiqin added that the wedding planner argued that the 360° camera was a complimentary addition and wasn’t inclusive of the package she had purchased before ending the conversation by telling her to escalate to the Consumer’s Tribunal.
She has since confirmed with WeirdKaya that she plans to take the case to the tribunal to rightfully claim her refund.
