A mother was left stunned and amused after she discovered that her son had quietly turned his beat-up school bag into a ‘piggy bank’, where she found wads of cash stuffed into one of its pockets.
The clip has since tickled netizens, who praised the boy for his ingenious method of saving up money.
Stacks of cash found inside school bag
In the clip, the OP said she usually doesn’t have the habit of checking her son’s school bag, until it came time for him to change into a new one as his was already torn.
When she unzipped one of the side pockets, she was shocked to find multiple RM1, RM5, RM10 and RM20 Ringgit notes stuffed inside.

At the bottom of the pocket was thick layer of coins as well.
As she continued to extract the cash from the school bag, the OP asks her son why he brought so much money to school, to which he nonchalantly replied by saying it was just him saving up.
To give viewers a sense of how much cash her son had saved up, the OP put all of the Ringgit notes into a transparent plastic bag while laughing in disbelief.

After counting the money, the OP revealed that her son had managed to save a total of RM767 within a year, which was exclusive of the coins.
She added that she will open a bank account for her son and will teach him how to better manage his finances.
She also promised that neither she nor her husband will touch a single cent of her son’s savings.

Netizens were equally as stunned by the boy’s ability to stash away so much cash inside his school bag and commended him for it.
‘The pocket is so small, yet he managed to keep all the money in it. Like a Doraemon pocket.’

‘Your son’s really good at saving money.’

‘This is more money than what I have in my wallet.’
