M’sian Boy Finds RM100 Prize Money Being Cut Up, Mum Believes Bullies May Be Behind It

Oh no.
No parent wants their child to be the target of bullying and would definitely be heartbroken when their child becomes one.

A mother recently took to social media to share how her son’s prize money was damaged on purpose after winning two awards at school—a move she believes was done by a group of bullies.

‘Mum, the money is torn’

In the post which was reshared by a Facebook page named Viral Johor, the woman wrote that her son Harith was a recipient of two awards at his school’s Appreciation Ceremony.

“When he went up to receive the first award, he didn’t even realise there was money inside the certificate envelope.

“He then came down from the stage, went back to class, and put the award aside for a moment as he had to line up again to go on stage for the second time,” she recounted.

Upon returning home from school, the woman said Harith was beaming from ear to ear and handed her an envelope before saying the following words: “Mum, the money is torn.”

Though she asked many questions in hopes of finding out what happened, her son gave brief answers and even refused to divulge who damaged the RM100 notes even though he knew who it was.

Was targeted by bullies before

Naturally, Harith’s mother was saddened to see her son quietly accept the bullying as he was one who was afraid of confrontation and would keep his silence whenever his belongings go missing.

This isn’t the first time his belongings have been targeted. His songkok goes missing two or three times a year as some of his schoolmates will take it and hide it somewhere some hide it or play with it.

“Yet, he remains silent as if it was a small matter. Is my child too kind to the point that others dare to touch his things however they like, or are children not taught to respect other people’s belongings these days?” she questioned.

Harith’s mother also asked whether the torn banknotes were still salvageable after it got cut up.

Outrage and sympathy

In the comment section, netizens were angered by the alleged act of bullying and called the suspects out for their behavior.

Some suggested to Harith’s mother that she meet both the parents of the bullies and teacher to let them know what happened and give the bullies a chance to learn from their mistakes.
