A man was reportedly caught on video sleeping while driving along the Eastern Dispersal Link (EDL) Highway in Johor Bahru.
The incident, which took place at around 10.40pm on Saturday, involved a white Proton Wira that also rammed into several vehicles.
Car seen moving slowly on highway
In a video that has since gone viral on social media, the car can be seen moving slowly in the leftmost lane of the highway.

Several drivers and motorcyclists were seen honking as they passed the vehicle, seemingly trying to alert the driver.
However, when the car entered a more congested stretch of road, the Proton Wira began crashing into multiple vehicles in front of it.
One of the cars involved, a Honda City, had its front bumper torn off after being hit.
Driver still asleep after car stopped
The car only came to a stop after a Proton Saga that had been hit stopped its vehicle.
Even after the car had stopped, the video showed that the driver still appeared to be asleep.

So far, the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) have not released any statement regarding the incident or whether the driver had actually fallen asleep or suffered a medical emergency such as a heart attack.
Victim later made police report
In a follow up update, the person who shared the footage said that one of the victims later contacted them to obtain the video as evidence for a police report.
The poster also claimed that leaves, cigarettes, and a lighter were found inside the Proton Wira, and confirmed that the driver was still alive.
The poster further commented that the driver appeared to be “lalok” (high or intoxicated), adding that they did not think anyone could help the driver because of his condition.
