A Singaporean tourist recently took to social media to sing praises about the Klang Valley MRT system and Malaysians are loving the unexpected shoutout.
In a Facebook post that has since gone viral, the tourist shared their MRT experience while on holiday in Kuala Lumpur.
The trip took them from Pavilion KL to Kajang for satay, then all the way to Bandar Utama to shop at 1 Utama.
MRT is fast and clean, comfortable and not so packed compared to Singapore,” he wrote.
Malls, satay & smooth rides
He was impressed by how seamlessly the MRT connects passengers to major hotspots and malls like Bukit Bintang, TRX, Cochrane, and Bandar Utama.
And yes, Satay Kajang was part of the itinerary.
The visitor also noticed that many of the MRT stations are surrounded by undeveloped land or low-rise buildings, hinting at potential for high-rise condos or commercial development in the future.
“KL’s greatest achievement”
The tourist went so far as to call the MRT the greatest achievement KL has ever had, and even suggested that a similar system should be built in Johor Bahru.
His post resonated with many Malaysians, who agreed that while the MRT system may not be perfect, it’s a step in the right direction for urban connectivity and public transport.
