Mishaps on the road happen every once in a while, but some, if left unattended to, can lead to dire and potentially fatal consequences for other road users.
Two motorcyclists recently went viral for their teamwork and efforts in ensuring other motorists weren’t endangered by a car tyre which rolled all by its lonesome along a highway in Singapore, earning praise from netizens.
Motorcyclists ‘escort’ car tyre rolling along SG highway
In a 38-second video posted by Singapore Road Accidents on Saturday (Jul 27), it showed two motorcyclists riding after a car tyre which was casually rolling between the first and second lanes of the Bukit Timah Expressway (BKE).
Not wanting to risk other motorists crashing into the car tyre, the duo decided to team up in ensuring that it didn’t get into the way of oncoming traffic.
One of the motorcyclists was seen giving the car tyre a kick, causing it to veer away from the second lane and roll towards the road shoulder.
Seeing that the car tyre was rolling to the side of the road, another motorcyclist cut into the BKE’s most left lane and gave a hand signal to other drivers to give way as he ‘escorted’ the car tyre along with the other motorcyclist.
Thankfully, the duo managed to guide the car tyre away from busy traffic and succeeded in making in land into nearby bushes.
According to the video caption, the motorcyclists were a Malaysian and Singaporean, with the OP thanking them for their efforts in keeping others safe on the road.
Netizens commend motorcyclists’ teamwork
The clip has since garnered more than 6,000 reactions as well as plenty of praise from netizens for the two motorcyclists, who were commended for their combined efforts in keeping the public safe.
Another suggested that Singapore’s Land Transport Authority (LTA) give the duo an award for their actions.
