The mother of a 24-year-old trainee who died in the recent explosion at HELP University has offered her prayers to another victim who is still recovering in hospital.

Prays for injured law student’s recovery
Margaret Chew, the mother of Soo Yu Jian, wrote a heartfelt comment on NST Online’s Facebook post, expressing her support for the family of Reeya Kaur Thandal, a 19-year-old first-year law student.
I pray that Reeya will recover and God will give your family the strength and faith at this trying time,” she said.
Margaret also mentioned that she is still coping with the sudden loss of her son.

Despite her grief, netizens praised her strength and kindness for reaching out to another victim’s family.
Reeya’s father gives hopeful update
Reeya’s father shared his gratitude for the support received, saying his daughter has always been strong.
Thank you everyone for the continuous prayers. My baby girl has always been a fighter and she will get through this,” he wrote.
His message received hundreds of comments from people nationwide, offering encouragement and prayers for Reeya’s recovery.
Reeya still in hospital with head injuries
According to NST, Reeya suffered skull fractures and internal bleeding in her brain after an air-conditioning compressor exploded at the university in Bukit Damansara.
She is being treated at Hospital Kuala Lumpur along with one of the air-conditioning contractors who was also injured. Other victims have reportedly been discharged.
Soo was days away from completing training
Soo Yu Jian, a mechanical engineering student in his third year, was on industrial training and was due to complete it the next day.
