Thailand’s newest internet sensation, “Moo Deng,” a four-month-old pygmy hippo at a Chonburi wildlife park, has made her prediction for the upcoming U.S. Presidential election: former President Donald Trump will return to the White House.
In a video shared by the Khao Kheow Open Zoo, the adorable hippo, whose Thai name is “Moo Deng” (meaning “Bounce Pig”), is presented with two fruits engraved with the names “Trump” and “Harris.”
Chose the fruit with Trump’s name
After sniffing around, Moo Deng confidently selected the fruit bearing Trump’s name, creating a stir online.
Since her debut in July, Moo Deng has rapidly gained popularity, becoming a social media darling in Thailand and beyond.
The wildlife park has launched a line of Moo Deng-themed merchandise, which has become a hot commodity among fans.
Her popularity even crossed international waters, with comedian Bowen Yang portraying her in a skit on Saturday Night Live.
Animal fortune teller
While Moo Deng’s “fortune-telling” abilities remain untested, the animal kingdom has a history of such oracles, with Paul the Octopus being the most famous.
The German-based octopus shot to fame in 2010 after accurately predicting all eight results of that year’s FIFA World Cup matches.
With Election Day around the corner, Moo Deng’s prediction is adding a fun twist to the tension-filled U.S. presidential race, leaving fans eager to see if her choice will prove accurate.
