A Malaysian recently sparked conversation online after sharing a list of announcements he hoped Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim would make ahead of Hari Raya.
The post, which was shared on Threads, quickly gained traction and drew hundreds of comments from others discussing whether the list were realistic.
Suggested 5 possible Raya announcements
In the post, the user listed five things he hoped the government might announce.
Among them were a special Thursday public holiday for states that observe the Friday and Saturday weekend, while other states would receive Friday off.

He also suggested allowing EPF withdrawals of up to RM2,000, implementing free toll on the first and second day of Hari Raya, and providing an additional RM100 under the Sumbangan Asas Rahmah (SARA) aid.
The final suggestion was a 20% reduction in the ceiling price of controlled goods.
He then asked others what announcements they hoped PMX would make.
However, he later clarified that the list was only meant as speculation and told netizens not to “take it seriously”.

Netizens respond with humour and criticism
The post soon attracted many reactions from netizens, with some responding humorously to the wishlist.
One user joked that if he was already asking for so much, he might as well request a return flight to Iceland along with accommodation.

Among the five suggestions, the idea of allowing RM2,000 withdrawals from EPF generated the most debate.
Some netizens said repeated withdrawals could affect retirement savings in the long run.
Others, however, continued the discussion in a lighthearted tone, with some making memes about the wish list.
The post has since gained significant attention online, with many Malaysians joining the discussion about what kind of announcements they hope to hear before Hari Raya.
